Work schedule is Monday - Friday: 9:30am - 6pm EST with some flexibility.

 

Role is open to fully remote work.

Successful candidates must have a previous experience working with retirement plans including 401k accounts, compliance testing, and analyzing census data.

Job Description Summary

As a Specialist, you'll handle assigned caseloads to assure that plans are administered according to the plan documents and agreements with the client. You will manage relationship with clients by working with producers, clients, accountants and attorneys in design and ongoing administration of plans, providing assistance to clients with governmental audits, preparing and conducting plan sponsor/participant meetings, providing expertise to sales personnel in the design, development and presentation to prospective customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts quarterly plan checkup reviews with plan sponsors.

  • Serves as shared point of contact for plan sponsors and financial professionals.

  • Develops and manages relationships with internal/external clients and business partners.

  • Identifies business needs, service requirements, key issues, alternative solutions and resources for the clients and business.

  • Communicates with plan sponsors, their representatives and/or producer about the sale or administration of qualified retirement plans.

  • Schedules and coordinates client visits.

  • Reviews/consults with plan sponsors on document/amendment changes.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Operations Division Manager or Unit Manager and does not have direct reports. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:


Education: Undergraduate studies or equivalent related work experience.

License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6 license - Associates must acquire the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses/registrations within the designated time period, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience: Four years of financial services experience in retirement plans with some background in direct access and consultation with clients.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Advanced knowledge of retirement plans, ERISA and IRS requirements. Understanding of complex financial concepts. Detailed knowledge of qualified retirement plan concepts, understanding plan documents, reconciliation of plan assets and thorough knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and Department of Labor regulations. Working knowledge of investments including annuities, mutual funds, employer stock and partnerships, etc. and the financial market place. Continuous development in laws and regulations about qualified retirement plans, continuous improvement and customer service. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to analyze and recommend solutions to business issues. Ability to explain governmental requirements and investment products to plan sponsors, their representatives and producers. Ability to analyze the business needs of a customer or potential customer to develop and design the appropriate plan(s) to fit the needs and desires of their client(s). Must have working knowledge of products, services and processes of the related business unit. Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with business unit and client. Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects. Ability to evaluate and recommend problem resolutions. Must have strong interpersonal and facilitation skills. Must be able to lead multiple tasks and projects. Must have the ability to research issues thoroughly, evaluate and recommend issue resolutions. Proven problem-solving skills in identifying problem situations and generating viable solutions.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.

The national salary range for Specialist, Bundled Client Services : $61,000.00-$126,500.00

The expected starting salary range for Specialist, Bundled Client Services : $68,000.00 - $102,000.00
