Electrical Design Engineer

As a Business Unit of Syntegon Technology, Osgood Industries, LLC. is a multi-million dollar, growth-oriented organization for packaging machinery. Established in 1978, Osgood was privately owned for more than 40 years and is well-known in the packaging industry. At this location in Oldsmar, FL, we design and manufacture packaging machines for food and a broad spectrum of products. In addition, we build complete line solutions and provide comprehensive after sales services. The facility includes engineering, manufacturing, assembly, R&D/testing lab, management, sales & marketing, administration and service.

Position Summary:

This person manages projects within the department related to electrical engineering design, function and wiring of all machinery utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and procedures. 

Essential Functions:

• Create electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical or E plan.
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM’s) in ERP System (Visual MFG).
• Work with vendors to research new components for machinery.
• Provide guidance to electrical assembly team for wiring of the machinery.
• Submits request to purchasing for all related electrical components.
• Maintain equipment design and manufacture to current NEC codes and other standards such as:  UL, NFPA, or EN (CE standards)  
• Assure that drawings and BOM’s are properly “red-lined” to reflect changes.
• Promotes teamwork and cooperation between areas of responsibility and other departments.
• Communicate with 3rd party vendors, when needed, regarding additional equipment added to the machines. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in BSEE
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in design of electrical systems for machinery, preferably in the food industry
• Proficiency in electrical system design using AutoCAD Electrical.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $70,000/yr - $80,000/yr based on a full-time schedule.  

Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.  At Syntegon, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  Total rewards at Syntegon include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits.
