The Educational Diagnostician will provide academic assessment of referred students through observation, individual assessment, diagnostic teaching, parent interview, teacher interview, and review of educational records. The incumbent will provide diagnostic information and work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities and contribute to the overall success of the education program.

This is a REMOTE full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Demonstrates exceptional skills in engaging with and building rapport with students one-on-one, in small groups, and in large group settings.
  • Possesses an extensive knowledge of IDEA and Article 7 regulations, including knowledge of nondiscriminatory evaluation placement and reevaluation criteria, parental participation, individual educational plan components, related service provisions, and least restrictive environment.
  • Works in cooperation with multidisciplinary team members as well as case conference team members.
  • Serves as Public Agency Representative (PAR) for Case Conference Committee Meetings as needed and when appropriate.
  • Efficiently coordinates educational assessment administration in adherence to established timelines and procedures as outlined by special education administration.
  • Administers a variety of tests and accurately scores the test data. May also assist with other testing such as benchmark testing, WIDA, and any other areas as needed and appropriate.
  • Assists in developing psychoeducational reports by collaborating with the school psychologist and writing clear and concise psychoeducational write-ups where appropriate.
  • Adheres to and upholds confidentiality guidelines as outlined by FERPA, ensuring the privacy and security of student information and records.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, optimizing time usage to maximize productivity and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Exhibits strong analytical skills, enabling accurate scoring, analysis, and informed decision-making of psychoeducational assessment data.
  • Collaborates with the school psychologist regarding data interpretation and follows Article 7 guidelines.
  • Develops complete individual education programs as needed.
  • Maintains all reports, records, and other documents required.
  • Complies with all federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and duties as assigned to support the school's mission and vision.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development, and learning theories
  • Three years teaching experience

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid Indiana Exceptional Needs License

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

  • This is a home-based position but will require travel for school meetings, state testing, and geographically assigned territory as needed to support student evaluation.
