Technical Project Manager

Datex is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic Project Management Organization (PMO). The Technical Project Manager plays a crucial role in managing complex IT and software engineering projects and will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes the collection and consolidation of all development requirements across Sales, Implementation, and Steady State Customers, as well as other Datex departments, and then aligning them against the staffing/resourcing capacity to produce comprehensive Roadmap and Delivery project plans.

The Technical Project Manager combines the strategic oversight of a regular project manager with deep technical software knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning and Management

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

Team Coordination

• Organize & coordinate Scrum ceremonies such as Daily Scrum, Sprint Review & Retrospective.
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.

Communication

• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

Quality Assurance

• Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations reporting to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Technical Skills

• Understand and apply industry best practices and standards.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project success.
• Ensure projects are compliant with security policies and protocols.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of IT/Software Engineering experience
• 3+ years of Project Management or Scrum Master experience.
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with IT Project SDLC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Scrum Master certification highly preferred.
• Proficiency in project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
