Job Description

Sentara is looking for a manager responsible for overseeing IT personnel and daily operations within the IT department. Their duties include creating job posts, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates, relaying information between upper management and department employees, and managing the department budget.

Job Responsibilities

Team Management:

-        Manages the Epic Bridges and Interface Engine teams.

-        Manages Epic contractors for interfaces. Provides onboarding and updates contract details in workday.

-        Assign work to team members using Service Now.

-        Meets with each of the team members on a bi-weekly basis and reviews the projects they are working on.

-        Keeps track of the team's work and deadlines.

-        Finds solutions to issues escalated by team members.

-        Holds bi-weekly team meetings to go over current events/go-lives.

-        Holds yearly performance reviews of team members.

-        Analyze and develop procedures for the management and technical duties.

Projects/Demands:

-        Analyzes documents and defines work effort and resources for each upcoming project/demand.

-        Attends meetings to determine the workflow and requirements for projects/demands.

-        Manages the demands assigned to her/him. Keeps up with documentation and ensures these documents are completed promptly.

-        Attends consultation meetings to answer interface-related questions.

-        Attends all meetings for challenging projects.

Product Owner:

-        Responsible for Cloverleaf and Global monitor. Ensures Cloverleaf and Global monitor are upgraded to the latest stable version.

-        Look for Cloverleaf add-on modules with the latest technology.

-        Participates in disaster recovery testing plans.

Other Responsibilities

-        Must have JIRA and Agile experience.

-        Drive projects from Inception to delivery managing budget, timelines, and quality goals. Identify, analyze, mitigate, and proactively respond to project, financial, and operational risks.

-        Putting in place a continuous improvement program with a focus on identifying and implementing best practices, measuring performance, and driving improvements.

-        Provide leadership and help foster a work culture that recognizes, and supports individual differences in work styles, personalities, cultures, and values to maximize team performance and effectively achieve team goals.

-        Helping manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, new vendor selection processes, renewal solutions, maintenance, and support.

-        Strong leader with proven ability to manage resources, both FTE and Vendor; develop a high-performing team of IT Professionals. Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills; able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

Job Eligibility: -        

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience working in IT operations.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
