The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Revisions Coordinator, UNLV Online Education - Instructional Design (REMOTE) [R0142806]

ROLE of the POSITION

The Office of Online Education welcomes applications for the Revisions Coordinator.  Reporting to the Director of Operations, Online Education, the Revisions Coordinator (“Coordinator”) uses a growth mindset to coordinate the process of reviewing, updating, and revising online course content and materials to align with best practices in online education, instructional design standards, and academic standards.  The Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, currency, and effectiveness of online courses offered at UNLV. The Coordinator collaborates with faculty, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely and systematic review and revision of online courses across disciplines. The coordinator should have knowledge of course design theory and quantity rubrics.

The Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of online courses at UNLV by coordinating the systematic review and revision process. The Coordinator joins a dynamic team of instructional designers, multimedia specialists, computer programmers and videographers dedicated to supporting faculty innovation and student success in online education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Psychology, Organizational Development or related from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years experience
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • 1-3 years management experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required knowledge of theories, research and evidence-based practices related  to:

  • Instructional design
  • Human-computer interaction theories
  • User experience testing
  • Learning theories
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines for digital teaching and learning content, including ensuring accessibility for users with disabilities
  • Knowledge of copyright and intellectual property issues related to online course content
  • Familiarity with online course quality standards and frameworks, such as Quality Matters (QM) and the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Quality Scorecard
  • Building projects in a learning management system in a higher education setting
  • Instructional design skills that effectively use various technologies and practices in the online experience
  • Teaching or training in a higher education setting
  • Using appropriate educational technology to enhance the impact of digital online projects
  • Expertise in Canvas and Canvas Outcomes
  • Maintaining a growth mindset
  • Ability to analyze feedback from formative and summative evaluation of digital projects and develop strategies for continual improvement
  • Ability to remain current with the advances in human-computer interaction, instructional design and learning analytics

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience conducting needs assessments and evaluations to inform course revisions and improvements
  • Adept at providing support for multiple projects in a variety of disciplines
  • Salesforce agile accelerator project management
  • Ability to assess and support or shift (as needed) organizational culture
  • Ability to support communities of practice in digital teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated ability to be resilient and agile
