Prudential’s Group Insurance business manufactures and distributes a full range of group life, long-term and short-term group disability, supplemental health, and group corporate, bank and trust owned life insurance in the U.S., primarily to institutional clients for use in connection with employee and membership benefits plans.  Group Insurance also sells accidental death and dismemberment and other ancillary coverages and provides plan administrative services in connection with its insurance coverages.

The Group Insurance business is undergoing a transformation which includes expanding product offerings and driving sustainable, profitable growth. We are currently seeking an individual to become part of the Product organization, as a Director, Voluntary Benefits Capabilities, Experience, & Go to Market Strategy. This role will report into the Voluntary Benefits Product Leader. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will be leading the optimization of the end-to-end supplemental health journey from quote to claim. The incumbent will also be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the Go To Market Strategy for Supplemental Health Transformation initiatives. The individual in this role will have to be a strong collaborator and relationship builder as this role interacts with Group Insurance product leadership, underwriting, distribution, operations, technology, and enterprise functions to bring offerings to market.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is fully virtual. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office.

What you can expect:

Supplemental Health End-to-End Experience & Go-To-Market

  • Regularly monitor the market on Voluntary Benefits capabilities and lead the development of business cases on capabilities Prudential should consider investing in to profitably grow the VB P&L.

  • Lead the development, management, and optimization of the end-to-end supplemental health journey from quote to claims working with appropriate teams in Group Insurance and the Enterprise.

  • Represent the Supplemental Health product team on transformation / modernization initiatives to make decisions related to how capabilities should be implemented related to Supplemental Health products.

  • Manage all the product go-to-market tasks related to launch of our enhanced offering and any future product launches.

  • Lead the development and execution of the go to market plan, training and change management plan related to transformation activities.

  • Lead the development of tollgate executive level presentations for Product and Distribution Leadership as needed.

  • Report key indicators of initiative’s Go to Market performance to the Product Lead and the Product P&L lead, identifying key risks and opportunities.

  • Lead product strategy initiatives and ideation work to evaluate options on growing Supplemental Health and Voluntary Benefits

  • Collaborate and influence other functions in the business to ensure a disciplined implementation, including pricing, training, distribution, claims, etc.

Supplemental Health Capabilities

  • Build strong partnerships with Chief Product Owners (CPO) and Product Owners (PO) to ensure proper infrastructure is in place to support the needs of supplemental health products through various key systems for quoting, customer onboarding / install, enrollment, policy issue, administration, service, and claims.

  • Actively participate in PI Planning and other Agile sessions to ensure appropriate progressive elaboration from initiatives – epics – features to stories.

  • Ensure all key artifacts are developed for each phase of the transformation project implementation.

  • Function as the relationship manager for voluntary benefits capabilities where we leverage 3rd parties.

  • Develop and lead product solutions that continually improve the end-to-end customer experience.

Supplemental Health Marketing & Training

  • Partner with marketing to ensure the Voluntary Benefits value proposition is clearly articulated and presented in all marketing collateral.

  • Partner with marketing, distribution and other appropriate areas to influence all marketing materials developed related to Supplemental Health.

  • Drive the development and execution of the go to market plan, training and change management plan related to transformation activities.

  • Understand the competitive landscape and use it as an input to advise on the Go-To -Market strategy through robust marketing launch and training.

  • Lead the development of an all-encompassing Voluntary Training Program across GI by partnering with the training team to ensure all the training needs for Supplemental Health and Voluntary Benefits are met. Deliver training related to supplemental health products and capabilities.

What you’ll need:

  • Action oriented with the ability to execute an operational plan set by Product and/or Group Insurance Leadership.

  • 8+ years of experience in Group Insurance, with at least 5 years of experience with supplemental health products/projects.

  • 3+ years of complex business project, program and/or go-to-market management experience, with focus on supplemental health, or claims platforms a plus.

  • 3+ years of driving broader growth initiatives using scaled agile framework a plus.

  • Has product related knowledge of broader Group Insurance Products of Worksite STD, Whole Life, Legal, Dental, Life, Disability and P&C Products

  • Strong results-orientation, with the desire and drive required to accomplish stated objectives.

  • A problem-solver who exhibits sound business judgement and innovative applications of risk adherence who can adapt as necessary and appropriate to the situation.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree a plus.

The salary range for this role is from $148,800.00 to $201,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
