This Senior Investigator, Internal & Third Party Risks plays an integral role that contributes to North American Bancard’s compliance with laws and regulations, internal company policies, and code of conduct and business ethics.

What you'll do::

  • Establishes protocols for investigations of internal and third-party potential misconduct, including:
    • Planning and conducting investigations such as identification of scope and approach based on type and subject matter of investigation;
    • Tracking cases and respective status, documenting investigative activity such as evidence collection and preservation, and for securing evidence; 
    • Maintaining case files.
  • Conducts investigations of potential employee and partner misconduct involving policy and code of conduct and business ethics violations, and criminal activity.
  • Coordinates and cooperates with internal partners and stakeholders, including Compliance, Ethics, Legal, and HR. as required.
  • Performs preliminary assessments of allegations to determine whether to conclude or to proceed with full investigation.
  • Conducts investigative research.
  • Communicate effectively and timely to provide updates on the status of investigations and issues requiring managerial intervention. Prepare and deliver high-quality and timely briefing materials for the Head of the Office, as required
  • Prepares high-quality briefing materials during the course of investigations, and investigative work product and reports, including reports of investigation and case closing memoranda.
  • Coordinates and liaises with external investigative bodies, conferring with federal, state and local government officials on individual matters, as necessary.
  • External engagement in industry organizations, forums and other platforms that are material to role.
  • Performs other duties as required.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of recent experience handling internal investigations, including ethics and internal and external investigations.
  • At least five (5) years experiences in the financial services arena.
  • Proven ability to conduct complex investigations and quickly and accurately analyze, assess and summarize investigation findings, observations and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience as lead in conducting investigations involving staff and third-party misconduct.
  • Excellent knowledge of standards and best practices for relating to internal and third-party investigation.
  • Direct interactions with regulatory agencies, and with federal and state enforcement personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment..
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations, and possess the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility, and character
  • Extensive investigatory experience and ability to expeditiously identify and analyze issues and provide legally sound recommendations.
  • Leadership and judgment to analyze, evaluate, and respond.

Certifications:

Professional certification preferred: training, formal qualifications and/or certifications in investigations (e.g., military, law enforcement, financial intelligence, federal/national intelligence agencies).

Travel: Up to 5%
