By being a part of the Information Security Officer (ISO) Product Security team, you will be responsible for working with Product Engineering, Architecture, and Application Security to ensure security practices are implemented throughout the development lifecycle, thereby leading enablement of risk mitigation earlier in the development and helping to address technology debt.
• • Maintain and facilitate a deep understanding of Business Unit Applications, Architecture, and other relevant inventories.
• Join a growing team of Product Security experts partnering with application developers and Information Security teams to identify and reduce critical risks to TransUnion products, documenting lessons learned and best practices for future success
• Managing identification, prioritization, and remediation guidance of application security vulnerabilities and threats.
• Increasing the integrity of the software, applications and products by testing and fortifying software at the various stages and environments it moves through during the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and following its release.
• Participating in day-to-day ad hoc information security activities including questions, issues, exception reviews, and research.
• Assist with creating reports to identify trends and establish metrics related to Product security.
• Identify and remediate gaps within existing workflows, processes, and procedures that impact information security and increase business risk.

This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to prepare clearly written, organized documents, reports, and communications that can be circulated to all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of security regulations, frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with the use of the DAST, SAST and SCA tools to identify application security vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top-10 and API Top-10 vulnerabilities and how to identify and remediate in code.
  • Experience working with application development teams to prioritize and address application security vulnerablilities.
  • Ability to work well as both an individual contributor and with global cross functional teams.
  • Ability to support internal and external audits through the management of audit evidence retrieval, collection, posting, communication, and tracking.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and skills.

Impact You'll Make:

  • 3+ years in a role related to Security Engineering, Application Security, Product Security, or Security Operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in Information Security, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Prior software development or engineering experience with exposure in web and API development to assist developers with secure coding practices
  • Experience working within or alongside a CI/CD pipeline including code quality gating
  • Experience and/or working knowledge with SOC2, PCI DSS, NIST Security Frameworks

What we’d like to see

  • Possess one or more information security certifications from the following organizations: AWS, CompTIA, ISC2, EC-Council, SANS
  • Experience with Cybersecurity and Security Architecture within cloud environments (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of threat modeling concepts and initiatives
