Your missions

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Medical Biller. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing patient payments and facilitating communication between our practice, patients, and insurance providers. You'll work closely with clinical leadership and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations. Initially starting with on-site training in Massachusetts, this position will transition to a remote role. Candidates must be located in the New England area.

This position will report to the Revenue Cycle Manager.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Biller, you will:

Act as a liaison between our practice, patients, billing consultants, and insurance companies.

Handle patient and insurance billing tasks, including assisting with patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization tracking.

Maintain accurate billing records, issue invoices to patients for remaining balances after insurance payments, and prepare billing data in a timely manner.

Ensure claims are settled efficiently between the practice, insurance companies, and patients.

Communicate with insurance company representatives to track payments and verify patient coverage.

Support the billing process and financial close, including preparing and posting vascular reading charges.

Monitor email and faxes, recommending delinquent accounts for collection agencies when necessary.

Process payments from insurance companies and assist with maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.

Willingly provide backup support for front desk duties as needed.

Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).

At least 2 years of experience in medical billing.

Strong knowledge of vascular medical coding.

Proficiency in various computer programs.

Exceptional customer service skills.
