Job Summary

Working as part of Market and Community Development sales team, the Consumer Relations Specialist is responsible for outreach to and education and enrollment of potential members. Through strong network and relationship building efforts, the Consumer Relations Specialist identifies and engages community partners and potential members. This role requires face to face meetings and appointments with potential members in community settings and in individual’s homes.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with providers, community partners, potential prospects and current members through outreach and sales activities. This includes setting appointments, calling on providers and participating in community events
  • Prospect and enroll potential members for the SCO program. Responsible for all enrollment activities including screening for eligibility, ensuring completion of applications and the seamless transition to the enrollment department for processing
  • Effectively manage assigned territory including building and maintaining strong relationships with elder service organizations. Implements outreach strategy for assigned territory to meet or exceed membership goals
  • Identifies and analyzes competitor positioning and activities in assigned geographical market
  • Assure compliance and adherence with Medicare & Medicaid enrollment and marketing regulations, policies and procedures
  • Support marketing and sales activities as needed to enhance BMCHP brand awareness and ensure BMCHP’s mission and goals are achieved
  • Works collaboratively with other marketing and outreach representatives to meet goals.

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training required.

Experience Preferred/Desirable

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in community relations, outreach and/or organizing, SCO sales or related experience such as marketing and communications is preferred
  • Previous sales, SCO sales or community outreach experience
  • Health care or managed care experience
  • Bi-lingual capability

  • Pre-employment background check

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to speak successfully with individuals and present to large groups as well
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Proven relationship-building skills, ability to participate in work teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, primarily Word & PowerPoint required; Competency with Excel spreadsheet and customer relationship software strongly preferred.
  • Highly developed organizational and analytical skills, with sharp attention to detail.
  • Reliability, commitment to setting and meeting goals a must.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community groups and leaders.
  • A keen sense of judgment and tact, as well as ability to work with all levels of management, community organizations, general public
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to prospects and members
  • Ability to speak comfortably and effectively to large or small groups

Working Conditions And Physical Effort

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Ability to work extra hours during nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift boxes of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation
