Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Gaming Editor with solid SEO knowledge to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the gaming industry, be well-versed in best SEO practices, and possess excellent editorial skills. This role will involve overseeing the copy’s development process from pitching to publication, including the creation of briefs, commissioning, and editing.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:

• Develop, commission, and edit high-quality articles on gaming news, reviews, trends, educational and analytical topics.

• Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring all content is free of errors and inconsistencies.

• Ensure all content is engaging, accurate, and optimized for search engines.

• Identify content opportunities to drive immediate and long-term traffic.

SEO Optimization:

• Implement on-page SEO strategies to improve article rankings and visibility.

• Utilize tools such as Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and others to perform keyword research, competitive analysis, and track performance.

• Stay updated with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes to ensure content remains optimized.

Industry Engagement:

• Stay on top of the latest gaming news and trends to ensure timely and relevant content.

• Build and maintain relationships with industry writers, influencers, and contributors.

• Commission articles from in-house and freelance writers and industry experts, ensuring content meets editorial standards and SEO guidelines.

Team Collaboration:

• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute to content planning and strategy.

• Provide feedback and guidance to writers to help them improve their work and grow their skills.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of proven experience as an editor in the gaming industry.

• Strong understanding of on-page SEO and best practices.

• Proficient in using SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and others.

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

• In-depth knowledge of the gaming industry, including current trends, major players, and upcoming releases.

• Ability to identify and develop engaging and analytical content topics.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
