Job Description

Cornerstone Building Brands is actively looking for a Commercial Builder Sales Representative for its StoneWorks division.  StoneWorks is the nation’s largest masonry subcontractor who also manufactures our own product, which offers customers one point of responsibility from start to finish. (We make it, we install it, we warranty it) 

The successful Commercial Builder Sales Representative owns all aspects of the sales, project management, and execution with a mixture of stakeholders from General Contractors, Architects and Owners. This person is accountable to achieve market growth and margin objectives while developing partnerships and delivering a Customer Experience Second to None. Product knowledge, application, building envelope and waterproofing, industry/market knowledge, financial business acumen and opportunity analyses are critical to the success of this role.  

Reports to: Commercial Sales Manager  

Territory is Mid-West: MN, WI, MI, IL

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Actively engage in Safety Culture by demonstrating care for our employees, our customers’ employees, and all trades on job sites
  • Develop a territory market plan for execution with insights on market dynamics/trends, competitor intelligence, opportunities, and targets
  • Establish strong and productive customer relationships with existing customer base and prospective accounts to be their expert for stone veneer and installation
  • Collaborate with customers regarding design and budget recommendations
  • Understand active and prospective customer base, their needs, and expectations to sell the value of our turnkey business model
  • Select bidding opportunities, thoroughly review plans and specifications, partner with estimating team to provide accurate quantities, provide appropriate pricing and margins with detail-oriented scope notes for ease of transition to contract
  • Manage margin through strategic price, actionable cost management, and effective project management
  • Follow up with customers and all decision makers to gain information and continually build relationships
  • Report in planning tool on projected schedules for manufacturing and installation preparedness
  • Partner with management to accurately review and negotiate contracts
  • Provide proper project handoffs to the field team and stay active with communication and documentation throughout the projects for successful completion of the work
  • Adopt Standard Operating Procedures and identify improvements to eliminate waste/increase profitability
  • Territory in Mid-West MN, WI, MI, IL with 80% multifamily work and 20% commercial

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred 
  • 3-5 years sales experience  
  • Ability to understand blueprints/drawings/blueprints (plans, elevations, wall sections, details) and spec books 
  • Experience in the construction industry and/or building materials industry, prior subcontractor experience preferred  
  • Experience with stone veneer and stucco preferred 
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred (employer will help to achieve this)

The US total target earnings for this full-time position is $120,000 (base + incentive) + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.)
