The Role

As a Senior Engineering Lead at Wealth Collective, you will lead a group of agile teams of engineers on engineering practices, processes, and continuous improvement.

💰The Wealth collective is one of the three teams of our product engineering team.
The group is responsible for building wealth for our users, which includes teams that develop and manage all the trading (stocks, ETFs, Investments) and savings products (Money Market Funds, ISAs), but also the experience across this wealth building journey.

Our Squads are mission driven and include Product Managers, Designers, Backend and Mobile engineers, aiming to develop and maintain products, services and tools towards an unforgettable user experience, as well as aiding any related operations from Plum’s side. Squads are organised into Pillars which align with our different strategic business areas. We trust massively on data driven, well informed squads that own their work.
Engineering leaders are accountable for the technical quality and delivery outcomes of their area. They are leaders that put their people in the best condition to grow in their professional journey and make them achieve their mission successfully.

Your key responsibilities ✨

  • Lead a cross-functional pillar with Engineering Leads and Staff Engineers as reports. Act as a role model and mentor for your reports and manage their career development.
  • Drive delivery across your teams and convey results aligned with company targets and support the systems they build.
  • Drive roadmap prioritisation ensuring team alignment with broader business goals and objectives, while maintaining a clear vision of the overall strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with a Group Product Manager and Designers to enhance solutions that prioritise an exceptional customer experience.
  • Oversee architectural design, drive horizontal initiatives and establish processes across the teams in collaboration with other Senior Engineering Leads.
  • Be responsible for building and maintaining a long term product and technology roadmap.

  • Prior experience into leading teams and experiences of wealth and trading products
  • A proven leader of cross-functional teams with a strong focus on outcomes and business impact
  • Expert in making sound technical decisions and driving engineering excellence
  • Champion in planning and data-driven prioritisation so as to build high performance teams
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and process efficiencies by implementing agile practices.
  • Effective communicator, simplifying complex technical and organisational challenges
  • Strategic thinker, sharing product insights, challenging decisions. Ability to make wise decisions, even when things are uncertain.
