The Sales Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of insurance sales agents in assigned location(s), driving sales, and ensuring five diamond customer service. This role involves actively participating in sales activities, supervising team members, providing training and guidance, and achieving team targets.

What you will do:

  • Monitor the sales performance of each team member and provide regular feedback and coaching. Advocates and ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and industry standards through call monitoring, and review of new business submissions. Coach and mentor team members to improve their sales techniques and product knowledge. Coordinate team schedule and proactively address any gaps in coverage. Manage and approve timesheets and time off requests.
  • Team Leads that support Insurance Agents in our branch locations are responsible for regular visits within their region. Partner with branch management to ensure attendance and reliability issues are monitored and addressed.
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for openings on the team. Provide a positive onboarding experience for new hires, including training and technical guidance as needed.
  • Drafts and administers performance reviews and proactively addresses employee performance issues, escalating to the attention of the Insurance Sales Manager and HR as appropriate.
  • Sell all insurance products and services, meeting, or exceeding sales goals. Compile coverage and rating information; confirm insurer’s underwriting criteria, coverage, and premium data. Provide members with product and premium proposals that best fit their needs, including packaging when applicable. Demonstrate initiative to develop leads and prospects by responding to referrals in a timely manner. Participate in sales programs designed to develop insurance prospects; maintain prospect files in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Consistently sell and/or refer Commercial & Life clients.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, product knowledge, regulatory changes, and insurance carrier products. Follow all agency processes and procedures in quoting and binding coverage, as well as receipt and processing of all member payments. Work with Quality Assurance and Underwriting departments to minimize error and omission exposures. In depth knowledge of insurance practices, including the scope of an agent's authority.
  • As a member of the leadership team, demonstrates AAA Five Diamond service in all interactions internally and externally. Services new Insurance accounts by processing payments, researching underwriting criteria and acting as liaison with Insurance Companies. Build professional relationships with clients, insurance company representatives, dealerships, real estate agents, etc., to ensure success of AAA Insurance and to broaden community knowledge of AAA Insurance products and services. Offers and sell the AAA Northeast membership and its benefits to clients, providing best practices to the team.
Qualifications

Education
High School Required Associate's Degree Preferred

Experience

Direct/indirect leadership experience Preferred Insurance sales experience, with a track record of sales success including cross-selling and/or referrals for Life and Commercial Required

Licenses and Certifications

Required Life License (may vary by state) Required Valid Insurance designation(s) (AAI, CISR, ACSR, etc.) Required
