GENERAL SUMMARY

PTG Consulting is a division of Preferred Travel Group. Preferred Travel Group includes four hotel brands - Preferred Hotels and Resorts (PHR), Beyond Green (BG), Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide and two consulting brands – PTG Consulting and Beyond Green Travel. 

Under the umbrella of PTG Consulting, we are looking for a Director of Business Development who will be responsible for driving business growth, cultivating strategic partnerships, and expanding our client base within the hospitality and tourism sector for both PTG Consulting and Beyond Green Travel. 

The Director, Business Development will identify and pursue new business opportunities in hospitality consulting and sustainability for hotels and destinations. New business targets will include hotels both within and external to the Preferred Hotels and Resorts portfolio. 


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

This role reports to the Executive Vice President, PTG Consulting – Hospitality, and will collaborate with internal and external constituents to identify new opportunities and grow existing accounts. Internal constituents include PTG Consulting and Beyond Green Travel subject matter experts, Preferred Hotels and Resorts regional and development teams, as well as other key senior roles within Preferred Travel Group. External constituents include industry contacts such as senior hotel leaders, management companies, real estate development firms, and travel industry partners.  


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Business Development Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive sustainable growth in the hospitality sector. 

2.    Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders in the hospitality industry, including hotel owners, executives, and sustainability leaders.

3.    This role will continually identify opportunities for new clients in need of hospitality support that align with PTG Consulting’s current offerings including but not limited to, revenue management, sales, public relations, new hotel opening support, as well as Beyond Green Travel’s sustainability services. 

4.    Through research and ongoing business development activities, this role will identify new service and support needs and consulting opportunities in the industry. These opportunities will be shared and discussed internally for consideration leading to potential expansion of services offered. 

5.    Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities. Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

6.    Sales and Revenue Generation: Achieve and exceed sales targets by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Develop compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs of clients. 

7.    Partnership Development: Collaborate with industry organizations and stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships that enhance our position in the hospitality consulting space.

8.    Through research and ongoing business development activities, this role may also identify hotels which may have good alignment for PHR or BG. 


QUALIFICATIONS

    Proven track record of successful business development in the hospitality industry.  

    Must have strong contacts within hospitality.

    Must be self-starter and results driven individual.

    Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.

    Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.

    Must be extremely flexible and adaptable to constant change.

    Interest or passion for sustainability.

    Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.

    Proficient level of written and verbal English.

    Sound computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. 

    Self-motivator with the ability to work independently and as a team player. 

    Worker characteristic are normally acquired through the completion of a university degree program or related hotel/travel industry experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a home based role.  Preferred Travel Group will offer technology requirements as needed.

3.    PTG HR & IT Required training modules




Salary range: USD $98,000 - $125,000; actual compensation within this range will be based on location, individual skills and experience.
