About The Role

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team and play an integral role in our monthly close and day-to-day accounting. This position will report to the Accounting Manager, and will work closely with the rest of the Accounting and Finance teams. The right candidate for this role will be highly motivated by a fast-paced, high-growth environment, combined with a collaborative culture.

What You Will Do

• Prepare various entries for monthly financial close
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
• Manage Accounts Payable
• Travel and expense review and onboarding
• Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Monthly reporting
• Ad-hoc reporting
• Audit support
• Assist with Accounts Receivable during busy season
• Assist the accounting team in other areas as needed

During the First Month:

• Learn about Niche by meeting with various team members to learn more about our company through our Onboarding meetings
• Train on the monthly close, accounts payable, expenses, credit cards and other processes
• Learn the Finance and Accounting (and related) systems including Salesforce, Intacct, and Bill.com

Within 3 Months:

• Support and perform a key role in the monthly close including prepaids, deferred revenue, fixed assets, bad debt, bank account reconciliations allocations and other adjusting journal entries
• Take ownership of the accounts payable, expense and credit card processes
• Document core financial processes and develop updated best practices for monthly and quarterly recurring accounting related activities
• Contribute to streamline our monthly close

Within 6 Months:

• Develop a deep knowledge of our company, products, and accounting
• Maintain, update, or create SOPs pertaining to owned processes
• Suggest and implement process improvements to streamline operations

Within 12 Months:

• Expand scope of responsibility within and across functions
• Become a reliable and trusted business partner and team member

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 2+ years of work-related experience in accounting, SaaS experience a plus
• Proficient in Salesforce a plus
• Bill.com experience a plus
• Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite, Intacct, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and high level of proficiency with MS Excel and Google Sheets
• Highly organized, with good time management and prioritization skills, acute attention to detail, works with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Self-starter with proven ability to research information, problem-solve and coordinate projects and initiatives
• Adaptable, versatile, and able to work in a fast paced and changing environment
• Excited to work in a culture of measurability and continuous optimization

Compensation 

Our national target base salary range is $52,000-$65,000, plus participation in our Annual Bonus and Stock Option Program. Base compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
