The Procurement Strategy Lead provides data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. The Procurement Strategy Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity.

The Strategy Lead – Procurement Center for Enablement (“C4E”) is responsible for planning and overseeing Strategic Plans, Analytics & Insights strategy, Project Management on key initiatives, Merger and Acquisition Procurement Project Management, and management of ad hoc leadership requests including alignment on Source to Pay, Accounts Payable, Contract Management, and Supplier Performance Management. Reporting to the Director of the C4E, the Strategy lead will work closely with the Director and Leadership to develop long-term business strategies to support growth and revenue, identify weaknesses or opportunities in ongoing strategies and analyze and assess internal processes leveraging automation and AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the execution of multiple key strategic projects from design, plan, technical development, deployment, change management and adoption, maintenance, and improvements.

  • Supports and develops the C4E long-term roadmap and strategy with Procurement C4E Director including alignment of the C4E goals. Processes and resource allocation with the EPSM organizational strategy

  • Stakeholder Management: building and nurturing strong advisory relationships with key external and internal senior stakeholders including influencing cross-functional leadership

  • Evaluates and Assesses market trends, external benchmarks and systems to identify areas for improvement, competitive advantage, and Humana comparison and adoption

  • Collaborates with category managers, contract managers, sourcing leads, operational support teams, IT support teams, contractors, and leadership to develop, enhance specific application needs for improved efficiencies, such as Oracle System, COUPA, iCertis, Salesforce, SaaS applications, EPSM and AP Analytics, and Portfolio Management applications

  • Represents and brings expertise on behalf of the Procurement department to segment stakeholders and leaders with minimal direction

  • Advises procurement leadership on opportunities for process improvement and enhanced customer experience and provides insights based on independent analysis

  • Operates with independent judgment with respective to paths forward and complex issues with minimal direction

  • Supports Supplier Management Leadership Team and Chief Procurement Officer with preparing and organizing monthly leadership reporting and presentations

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 6 or more years of project leadership in strategic initiatives

  • 2 or more years of Finance and/or Procurement experience

  • 2 or more years of project management experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to link pivots to external data sources, creating pivot tables and summarizing data into reports and dashboards

  • Proficient in SQL

  • Experience with tools such as Tableau, Qlik, PowerBi for creating data visualizations

  • Experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations and/or the analysis of healthcare data

  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple or competing priorities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of management consulting experience

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems

  • Prior experience working in a system analytics and/or data warehousing environment

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$112,400 - $154,900 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
