Your missions

Hire My Tech is seeking a skilled and dedicated Web Application Developer (Remote) to join our team. Our web application integrates multiple technologies and has been stable for several years. The main responsibilities will involve supporting customers on issues and implementing new features as needed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with older versions of software and be proficient in the technologies specified below.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers, addressing and resolving issues related to the web application.
  • Implement new features and functionalities based on customer and business requirements.
  • Maintain and update the existing codebase, ensuring compatibility and stability.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ensure that the application performs optimally and securely.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Drupal 6, particularly in user and permissions management.
  • Strong proficiency in Cake PHP 1.3 for MVC architecture, specifically for ERP/CRM/Trade functionalities.
  • Solid experience with jQuery 1.10 and jQuery UI for front-end development.
  • Familiarity with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache 2.2, MySQL 5.7, PHP 7.1).
  • Ability to work with legacy systems and older software versions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to support and interact with customers remotely.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in maintaining and enhancing stable software applications.
  • Familiarity with updating and migrating legacy systems to newer versions (although this may not be immediately necessary).
  • Prior experience in remote working or a remote support role.
