Job Summary: 

We are currently seeking an IT Security Team Lead with experience with Windows or Linux System Administration and designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting IT Security tools. Lead a team of engineers that designs and implements security controls for IT environments.  This is a unique opportunity to contribute extensively to the success of a rapidly growing technology company.   

The Gig:

  • Coach all team members and motivate them to produce desired results 
  • Keep up with trends in the constantly evolving information technology industry
  • Work alongside other departments to achieve company goals and visions 
  • Devise and track metrics to measure team’s performance  
  • Perform regular appraisal of team member’s performance and devise strategies to help with improvement 
  • Lead the building, maintenance, and management of a central security policy for our infrastructure 
  • Build a continuous audit solution to validate systems against policy 
  • Develop general techniques and frameworks that will enable teams to find flaws before they are introduced into production 
  • Identify potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts 
  • Lead vulnerability assessment program 
  • Configuration, maintenance, design and troubleshooting for single sign on solutions, anti-virus, web filtering, and web application firewalls 
  • Oversee and develop security standards based on security best practices 
  • Respond to security incidents, assist with troubleshooting and provide on-call support as needed 
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical staff members 
  • Creative thinking and proposing solutions to grow our business by delighting our clients 
  • May perform other duties as assigned

What you need to make the cut:   

  • BS in Computer Science, CIS, Software Engineering or related degree. 
  • 1-2 years of experience leading or mentoring junior engineers 
  • 4-7+ years of experience securing IT Systems 
  • 1-2+ years of security monitoring experience and incident response activities 
  • Ability to take proactive steps in managing problems 
  • Have in-depth knowledge of management goals and visions and work in line with team members to achieve them 
  • Certifications such as CCNP Security, AWS Security, CISSP, OSCP, or OSCE preferred 
  • Experience with Windows or Linux environments 
  • Experience with software application security best practices (e.g. OWASP, CWE/SANS) 
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus or similar 
  • Advanced knowledge of endpoint security including Anti-virus, HIPS, and endpoint hardening 
  • Experience investigating security incidents 
  • Experience with security frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO) 
  • Proficient in a modern scripting language 
  • Development experience a plus 
  • Highly motivated, Innovative, self-directed thinker with an eagerness to stay up to date with current trends and a desire to impress
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment 

The pay range for this position is 100K to 170K per year (pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data). 

Other Compensation: This role will be eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan.
