THE ROLE

The Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller with all month end procedures, including journal entries and analysis. This position will work directly with the Controller to develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Accountant may have contact with senior-level Executive’s and the VP of Finance which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. 

Job Description:

  • Assist in monthly / quarterly financial books closure.
  • Own specific areas during the close process
  • Liaise with the business owners for the inputs related to the accounting and book keeping.
  • Assist in maintaining the internal control environment related to the financial reporting
  • Assist in preparation of reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of financials statements footnotes
  • Liaison with the bankers on any payments / receipts related issues
  • Assist in the corporate tax matters
  • Assist in preparation of operation process notes and memos
  • Research technical accounting matters and prepare memos
  • Assist management on additional ad hoc analysis or reporting as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Accounting / Finance
  • CPA or pursuing CPA (Preferred)
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate finance or accounting role
  • Advance Excel knowledge
  • Detail oriented and have a “Hands-On” work attitude
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Experience working with accounting or financial reporting tool (NetSuite preferred)
  • Knowledge of accounting as well as finance to be able to develop and present financial reports
  • Ability to work with large amounts of financial data

COMPENSATION RANGE 

The compensation range for this role is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 depending on location and experience.
