Calliditas’ lead product, developed under the name Nefecon, has been granted accelerated approval by the FDA under the trade name TARPEYO®, conditional marketing authorization by the European Commission under the trade name KINPEYGO® and by China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) Nefecon®. TARPEYO, KINPEYGO® and Nefecon® are the first and only treatments approved for IgA nephropathy. Calliditas also has a pipeline in orphan-focused indications. Position summary

The US Field Reimbursement Manager will help resolve patient access, coverage, and reimbursement challenges impacting Calliditas product(s) by providing education, services, and support tailored to alleviate such reimbursement and access issues. This role will act as the subject matter expert on access and reimbursement, providing guidance through (1) product-specific provider reimbursement support, (2) coordination with the HUB/Patient Services partner, and (3) deep knowledge of payer and coverage criteria for the prescribed product(s).

With a deep passion and dedication to eliminating treatment barriers for patients, this role will also serve to enhance and optimize the prescriber experience through education, enrollment support, and program offerings. This individual will establish strong and compliant relationships with healthcare providers and office staff; additionally, cross-functional collaboration internally with Market Access and Sales is essential.

The US Field Reimbursement Manager is a remote, field-based position.  

Key tasks and responsibilities 

  • Be the main point of contact for providers and office staff in the assigned geography for enrollment, reimbursement, and access related needs and education
  • Provide HCPs with compliant information, coverage guidance, and reimbursement support to help address coverage and access challenges
  • Upon patient enrollment into the program, work closely with the HUB/Patient Services provider to follow and suport the provider office throughout the enrolllment journey – information collection, benefits investigation, Prior Authorization & Appeals, and financial support programs, as applicable
  • Create and maintain a positive relationship with provider office personnel with an emphasis focus on timeliness and customer service
  • Partner with Field Sales, HUB/Patient Services, and Market Access teams to ensure compliant communication, collaboration, and coordination in support of patient access to therapy
  • Establish and maintain knowledge on the local and national payer landscape
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Calliditas Product(s) and reimbursement service offerings
  • Record and report Adverse Events and Product Complaints
  • Maintain customer engagement activities in the CRM system
  • Participate in National and regional meetings and trainings
  • Ensure behaviors are consistent with compliance guidelines

Education and experience requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 3+ years experience as a pharmacy benefit focused FRM or account manager, in a provider’s office, or HUB support center manager on a specialty product
  • Experience with specialty or rare disease products
  • Must have payer policy knowledge including public and private payers, expert knowledge of benefit verifications and prior authorization/pre-determination requirements and knowledge of reimbursement processes within various sites of care
  • Patient-centric and service-oriented mindset
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Flexible, innovative, ability to problem solve and multi-task effectively
  • Team orientated with proven experience compliantly partnering with commercial sales, market access, and other stakeholders
  • Successful experience in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to travel as business needs require is essential
  • Bilingual desired, but not required
