Full Stack Developer

Flxpoint is a small company with passionate team members. Developers working at Flxpoint will have the opportunity to work alongside, and with guidance from, our senior developers, product team, and UI/UX team.

You will contribute to core product features and build foundational workflows to empower our users and support staff. Ensuring high quality solutions are developed in an organized and timely manner.

You will be afforded a high degree of autonomy and will be expected to watch for gaps and improvements to bring forward to the team to help keep software & solution quality high and tech debt low.

A very high degree of thoroughness will be expected in your implementations, solutions, and communication.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years experience working in a professional development role

  • Led or were a Senior contributor to the development of at least one (1) project professionally

• Efficient and organized with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks

• Timely and efficient communication of technical concepts and issues as they relate to both high level product and low level code

• High proficiency working in Javascript (Vue)

• High proficiency working in Java (Spring)

• High proficiency in writing HTML & SCSS to quickly match mocks

  • Existing CSS/Component framework are prebuilt but it will be required that you can create new ones to be cross leveraged
  • At least a mid level understanding of SQL and basic performance characteristics of a SQL engine

• Technical Concepts that should be understood :

  • SQL - selects, updates, inserts, joins, indexing, foreign keys, constraints, ascades, data typing, normalization, and relationships
  • Git (branching & handling merge conflicts) build/merge
  • Open API speccing with clean and reasonable interfaces
  • Dependency Injection
  • Unit Testing (JUnit, Mockito)
  • Dependency Management (NPM, Maven)
  • Abstracting code structurally (DRY programming)
  • Analyzing IO / Network / DB bottlenecks for performance gains
  • Big(O) - memory and time complexities
  • Caching solutions (i.e. Redis, Memcached)

• Experience with the following frameworks are required

  • Spring
  • Vue
  • JOOQ (or similar builder style ORM) 

Nice to have: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering/not req
• eCommerce Experience (order management/inventory)
• Be prepared to show us code or execute an assessment
