Position Overview:

The Associate Manager, Data Specialist will be a player-coach role, focusing on guiding a team of direct reports and performing and overseeing data management tasks related to data services such as data transfers and audit extracts. This role involves independently executing data transfers based on specifications and managing audit extract processes, while ensuring data integrity, with minimal supervision. Interaction with internal study teams, functional groups, and external end users will be necessary to maintain data integrity and support data integration efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports, providing support, training, and development opportunities.
  • Assume responsibility for team performance and adherence to SLAs.
  • Manage data-related processes and procedures, such as data changes, verifications, data transfers, extracts, etc.
  • Review and assess specifications for clarity, completeness, and impact.
  • Draft and execute quality SQL scripts.
  • Act as a contact for management regarding critical issues and special client considerations.
  • Assist management in overall Data Management activities.
  • Collaborate with Client Services and customers to ensure outputs align with original requests.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of study functionality to ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in conference calls and meetings with external teams as needed.
  • Manage and continuously update Data Management best practices.
  • Perform other duties as required, including weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and/or appropriate experience

  • Experience:
  • 4 + years of relevant experience with SQL data management, preferably in the clinical trials industry.
  • 2 + years of direct line management experience.
  • Proven experience and expertise in SQL scripts, as well as creating complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Advanced MS Excel expertise; SAS is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and SQL.
