Your missions

Company Description

This Engineer works on a team alongside the Solutions Architect for development, operations, and support of the Search platform on our global ecommerce websites. In this role, you will work closely with the Technical Architects, Internal technology teams and external technology partners to support the Search Platform built on Elastic Search Engine, its development, and operations. 

 

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • Responsible for building and maintaining features within A&F's Enterprise Search platform
  • Support technical direction in a squad; create/review technical designs for all projects and initiatives in the area
  • Work closely with senior engineers and application architect/s to ensure solutions meet high-level architecture, scalability, security & compliance requirements
  • Implementing rapid changes to meet changing business and marketing requirements
  • Analyzing and diagnose any issues which may impact performance or availability in the eCommerce environment.
  • Developing functional and technical documentation on assigned projects
  • Working in a team environment in supporting the team goals and improving web development engineering practices
  • Work closely with organizational stakeholders, technology partners and other members of the eCommerce team to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Measure, review & fine tune the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the software application to meet the performance, scalability & security goals.
  • Troubleshoot issues with business partners and support teams
  • Follow Agile-Scrum software development methodology by participating in the daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming and sprint retrospective meetings.
  • Continuously improve IT platforms based on retail technology trends to support business strategies

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or combined education/experience
  • Experience with Elastic Search and Enterprise Search platforms 
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field (eCommerce experience preferred)
  • Hands on development experience in Java, Spring Boot and related opensource frameworks
  • Hands on development experience with SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers on any RDBMS platform
  • Hands on development experience creating API specifications and Spec based API development
  • Experience with Apache Solr customization
  • Hands on experience with docker/containerization and familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Azure platform
  • Knowledge with web architecture and IT security best practices (SOX, PCI)
  • Knowledge with Unit, Automation testing, Gitlab – CI/CD processes
  • Proven interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and customer service skills
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast paced environment
  • Ability to rapidly learn new software and maintain competency with technologies
  • Ability to work flexible hours
