Position Summary: The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) AR Admin Specialist performs a wide variety of insurance billing duties in support of the RCM services. As an integral part of our RCM team the position serves in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment in order to meet performance and quality assurance benchmarks. Essential duties include all aspects of insurance billing and collections.

Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with the insurance company and patient to get a claim processed and paid
  • Make corrections to patient information based on correspondence from insurance carriers in order refile a claim.
  • Post appropriate adjustments based on carrier correspondence and client protocols
  • Work credit balances-
  • Respond to patient inquiries escalated from the patient collections team.
  • Keep current on informational changes in billing/collections procedures
  • Work with outside collection companies based on client protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience of OR combination of degree from an accredited college and 2 years of experience

  • Must be highly flexible; able to accommodate changing needs of the department.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
