Description:

The Office of Student Conduct within Emory Campus Life is seeking a talented, innovative, and experienced student conduct administrator to join the staff. The Assistant Director will be responsible for assisting with the investigation and resolution of non-academic misconduct allegations involving undergraduate students and undergraduate student organizations. The role includes case management of assigned cases, advising student conduct board(s), and managing programmatic office initiatives. Through their leadership, the Assistant Director will help students make positive civic, ethical, individual and community decisions to help fulfill the missions of the university and Emory Campus Life. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Serves as a conduct administrator responsible for reviewing and resolving individual student conduct matters (utilizing various resolution options including adjudication and restorative practices).
  • Assists with the review and investigation of alleged individual and/or student group misconduct. Assists with the recruiting and advising of student conduct board(s). Manages the implementation and oversight of the Student Conduct Ambassadors Program.
  • Coordinates and oversees programmatic office initiatives including Emory Integrity programming, ongoing proactive educational events and trainings, and collaborative event opportunities.
  • Assists with the facilitation of training and outreach to community members including conduct administrators, student conduct board members, and faculty/staff members who serve a role in the student conduct process.
  • Assists with the management of office assessment efforts that align with division and university strategic planning expectations. Creates and maintains educational materials to use for specialized learning opportunities related to student conduct processes, alternate dispute resolution programming, and alternatives to substance abuse and healthy decision making.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and trains staff (interns and student staff). Assists office with identifying and implementing best practices for student conduct. Performs other related duties as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling or a related field, and three years of higher education/student affairs professional experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least two years of direct student conduct experience. Demonstrated knowledge of student conduct best practices, higher education legal issues, and student organization misconduct. Experience creating, coordinating and executing programmatic initiatives.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
