Job Description

This is a field based medical role reporting to the Associate Medical Director, covering the south of the UK. The primary purpose of the role is to provide non-promotional medical and scientific support to healthcare professionals in the field and to pro-actively implement the regional medical plan in accordance with ABPI/IPHA guidance. 

The job involves interacting and coordinating with the affiliate medical team, business managers, the field team (commercial and patient access) and various support functions (marketing, regulatory, drug safety and logistics).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the field scientific / medical Sobi expert for the Immunology & Special Care portfolio, delivering medical education, updates and gathering insights and data from UK HCPs
  • Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with KOLs, scientific experts and other medical scientific stakeholders (75% of activities are external customer focused)
  • Share relevant insights within medical and cross- functional teams as appropriate, including use of dashboard tools.
  • Is an active member of relevant Key Account Management teams
  • Support responses to medical information questions from HCPs and ORDMs
  • Support and deliver medical training of commercial and patient access field teams
  • In coordination with the Associate Medical Director and Medical Advisor: to propose, implement and monitor the regional medical action plan (strategic and operational) which includes phase 3 or 4 studies, investigator sponsored studies, post-authorisation studies
  • Review of promotional and non-promotional material for cross-functional teams
  • Supports the assessment and delivery of Clinical trials and medical projects, including Medical Grants, Investigator Sponsored studies
  • Represents Sobi Medical at relevant local, regional and global congresses and symposia, interacting with appropriate stakeholders/customers in line with Sobi’s overall external engagement
  • Supports team in developing local medical tactics and provide input to local and regional plans
  • Ensures timely, accurate documentation of interactions, and compliance and safety reporting in accordance with internal and external guidelines and regulations.
  • Ensure ongoing completion of all required initial and ongoing training in local regulations, Codes of Practice and policies, and adherence to those regulations and policies
  • Shares early identification of potential issues and opportunities for continuous improvement

Qualifications

Key requirements:

  • MBBS or pharmacy degree.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role in the UK pharmaceutical industry, ideally in an MSL role
  • Current knowledge of the codes of practice and compliance environments relevant to the UK and Ireland
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English with excellent communication skills
  • Drive and enthusiasm, with an ease of tailoring communication style and presenting complex information to meet audience needs
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain networks both externally as well as internally
  • Highest levels of personal integrity, with a strong personal commitment to adhere to all rules, regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and the Sobi values and ethics, compliance to rules and regulations

Desired:

  • Experience in rare disease or haematology therapy areas
  • Proven ability to work independently, while still maintaining a team and corporate approach to the function;
  • Proven ability to make effective prioritisation to deliver tasks on time in a complex and fast-paced environment

Role expectations:

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Full current UK driving license
  • Able to travel 3- 4 days / week
  • IT literate, competent in use of Outlook, excel, powerpoint and CRM recording systems.
