Customer Service Specialist

This is a contract opportunity.

This is a hybrid opportunity in Providence, Riverside, and Johnston, RI.

 

About this position

This role involves managing customer calls, verifying identities, resolving issues, and promoting bank products. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a customer-focused attitude. This position requires in-person training and may include evening and weekend shifts.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls, greet customers, and display a positive and helpful demeanor to create a great first impression.
  • Request personal information and compare it to data in the computer system to ensure confidentiality and legal compliance.
  • Allow customers to fully explain issues, ask questions for clarification, maintain composure with upset customers, and convey empathy to understand their concerns fully.
  • Answer questions, help customers understand product features, assist with online banking processes, and provide information on general bank service.
  • Review customer relationships, explore transaction history, perform searches, and gather additional information to identify the source of problems and resolve them.
  • Identify possible courses of action, determine the most appropriate solution for the customer and the bank, present solutions to customers, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Type details of customer calls, update profiles, document satisfaction, set calendar reminders for follow-ups, and input notes for other specialists.
  • Use phone and computer systems, find information, read emails, use calendar functions in Outlook, reset customer passwords, and enter/retrieve data in all bank systems.

  • Comfortable with technology and data entry
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure with upset customers
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to changes in policies and procedures
  • Sales experience is a plus

 

Additional Information:

  • This is a 3-month contract with the opportunity to extend/convert.
  • Requires in-person training in East Providence (up to 4 weeks)
  • Hybrid schedule post-training
  • May include evening and weekend shifts.

Pay Range:

 

  • $19/HR
