Job Description

This is a remote role, preference will be given to candidates within Chicago, IL and surrounding areas.

The Payroll Processing Manager will be responsible for managing the payroll preparation/processing for a large US multi-company centralized payroll department. This position will have the primary responsibility of managing multi-frequency payrolls for approximately 18,000 employees. This person will critically review and analyze current payroll procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements. This person will work closely with Human Resources, Benefits, IT, and Compensation teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure payroll is paid accurately, and timely and that all required reporting is delivered.
  • Ensure that daily quality and control measures are followed and end-to-end processes are met according to policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the payroll processing team and their duties and responsibilities.
  • Coach team members and provide feedback to strengthen and/or improve performance dimensions.
  • Ensure payroll processing and related payroll activities comply with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Provide customer support to HR, managers, and employees to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Be proactive in identifying process improvements, and system enhancements and effectively managing the change.
  • Work directly with IT leaders for system enhancements and testing.
  • Lead administrator for payroll processing.

Qualifications
  • High School or GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of payroll experience in a multi-company payroll department, with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience managing a team of about 5-7 individuals preferred.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS and Payroll for North America 9.2 preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information required.

Additional Information

The national pay range for this role is $74600 - $132500annually.  The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee.  The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location.

In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
