Requirements:

  • Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (if required by the specific position).
  • Possess and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Minimum of one year of full-time experience within the last three years providing nursing care in a relevant setting (e.g., Medical-Surgical Unit, Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Pediatric Medical-Surgical Unit).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in nursing practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to nursing practice.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility (MTF).
  • Perform physical exams and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education to patients.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Make patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education to benefit the patient, family, and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services identified in the Task Order.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required.
  • Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth.
