Senior Business Analyst – VA Appeals Process

Position Overview: Sprezzatura is looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to enhance the requirements team supporting the BVA. This role is essential for conducting in-depth requirements analysis of the systems used by the client and ensuring that their IT services are aligned with the organization's goals to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the appeals process for veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis and modeling of business processes using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable systems requirements.
• System Expertise:  Leverage knowledge and provide analysis for VA-specific applications such as the VACOLS (Veterans Appeals Control and Locator System) and Case Flow applications.
• Agile Analysis: Work within an agile environment to rapidly iterate on solution design and functionality, ensuring responsiveness to evolving needs under this task order.
• Collaborative Strategy: Collaborate closely with IT and business teams to enhance strategic planning and reporting capabilities, refining processes to align with BVA’s mission and goals.
• Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate the implementation of business processes, measuring their impact and providing detailed feedback to adjust strategies as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in business systems analysis/requirements analysis, preferably within the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) working within BVA.
• Strong experience with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and business systems analysis.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with JIRA application.
• Proven knowledge of VA’s Court Management systems, preferably with VACOLS or Case Flow or minimally with VBMS (Veterans Benefits Management System).
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across teams and with stakeholders to ensure alignment and cooperation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.

This position is fully remote, allowing the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States. Please note, due to the requirements of this contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, candidates must reside in the U.S. and work may not be performed from outside the country.
