CarMax, the way your career should be! Summary of Duties:
- Work collaboratively and creatively with other data engineers and stakeholders to gather requirements for data warehouse development, analyze source data, assess impacts to existing ecosystem, and develop scalable data solutions.
- Develop patterns and build data pipelines that ingest enterprise-wide data into the Enterprise Data Warehouse and make it available for consumption for users.
- Develop robust data marts to support new data-driven capabilities across the organization.
- Partner with a variety of internal stakeholders across the organization to deliver creative, cutting- edge, high-quality data engineering solutions that meet business requirements in a fast-paced, ever- changing business environment.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering (any), Statistics, or a related field of study, AND Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering (any), Statistics, or a related field of study, and Three (3) years of experience, the employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering (any), Statistics, or a related field of study, AND Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must also have demonstrated experience with the following: Development, dimension modeling and data warehouse/data mart development; Writing stored procedures and ability to understand data models; Teradata; Performing ETL using Python and Informatica; Working on Agile teams implementing DevOps practices; Performance tuning of SQL and Informatica jobs; Delivering complete solutions including unit/function/integration testing, documentation, pipeline monitoring and support, and team teach-outs; Working with Cloud Data Warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Synapse, or Redshift); Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Bricks; Working with Big Data frameworks (Apache Spark); Working in onsite-offshore delivery mode; and Working with streaming data and technologies (Azure Event).
