THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Zalando Workplace, a function within Zalando Technology Foundation, is seeking a Senior Demand Manager within its Workplace PMO team to contribute to the ongoing evolution of our workplace environment. Just as our mission drives us to innovate and shape the workplace of tomorrow, we are expanding our team to include expertise in Demand Management.

The Workplace PMO team is a central team within Zalando Workplace, consisting of >5 project- and program managers and we are looking for a new team member to join us.

As a Senior Demand Manager, you will play a key role in supporting Zalando Workplace on its journey to drive simplification and have the opportunity to help build and shape a new, forward-thinking function in our organisation. 

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You will be the central point of contact to intake new (IT) demand for Zalando Workplace, requested by a diverse stakeholder group.

  • You will act as the liaison between our internal customers and the technical application expert teams and will be a first point of contact until the demand has been handed over to the respective product- or project teams.

  • You manage the relationship with the business units to derive and articulate business requirements, consolidate requests, and collaborate with zWorkplace product experts to provide feedback and clarity to our stakeholders.

  • You consult your stakeholders inside and outside of Zalando Workplace based on your knowledge and experience in order to ensure that Zalando`s and zWorkplace`s strategic direction is being followed accordingly.

  • You will get the chance to build and extend a great network within Zalando and gain meaningful insights into teams across Zalando and how they work.

  • You bring these teams together in order to achieve alignment, manage expectations and will have a significant impact in identifying the best solution for our Zalando Workplace. 

  • You will define and bring to life the respective demand management structures and processes, develop and manage related metrics, and drive alignment with the Management as well as internal customers. Also, you will govern the process during the day-to-day as well as drive continuous improvement. 

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You bring 5+ years of experience in demand-, product-, IT project management, business process consultancy, or related fields, along with a bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or similar areas.

  • You confidently interact with stakeholders from entry to executive level and effectively articulate the essence of messages, while adapting your communication style.

  • You are able to identify and manage different stakeholder groups with potentially conflicting interests.

  • You argue from stakeholders’ perspective, challenge ideas and approaches to successfully solve situations with them, while you establish and maintain long-lasting partnerships with (senior) stakeholders.

  • You understand business requirements and also you will be able to develop an understanding of the (IT) landscape of zWorkplace and you are able to digest the key factors that drive business value and impact.

  • You have at minimum a high-level, general understanding of SaaS technologies, large scale platforms (ServiceNow, WorkDay, Google) and corporate technology as a whole.

  • You are solution oriented and comfortable proposing and recommending solutions while keeping the big picture in mind.

  • You are hands-on, proactive and have a self-driven mindset.

  • You are eager to learn new things and feel comfortable in navigating in an ambiguous environment while being able to create and provide structure.
