Plume’s Cloud Platform team is looking for engineers to build and operate data pipelines that power the gamut of Plume products and analytics. Due to the massive scale and performance requirements of many of our use cases, you will be solving challenging problems on a daily basis using a variety of cutting edge technologies.
What You Will Do
- Design, deploy, and manage data processing systems (Databricks, Airflow, and AWS/GCP Services) and workflows to facilitate the company's data operations.
- Establish and advocate operational best practices for deploying data applications in the Cloud.
- Enhance operational efficiency by automating processes and tasks.
- Monitor and alert potential bottlenecks to preempt, mitigate, or resolve performance issues.
- Develop and execute cost-saving strategies to optimize data platform expenses.
- Proficient in enterprise rollout to production using CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain comprehensive runbooks detailing all operational procedures.
- Investigate and troubleshoot data platform issues across all environments as part of on-call duties.
What You’ll Bring
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of data engineering or operations experience with a proven track record of building, scaling, and supporting production data pipelines
- High proficiency in writing idiomatic code, preferably in Python or Scala, as well as SQL
- Strong understanding of large-scale data processing technologies, e.g. Spark (preferred) or Flink
- Experience with modern cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS/GCP
- Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm charts
- Familiarity deploying machine learning pipeline to production systems
- Possess solid analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Total Compensation package would include: anticipated base salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
