Senior Data Engineer – Data and Analytics (Remote)

Fusion Education Group is seeking a curious and driven individual to lead data and analytics architecture for a data aware organization. This opportunity will report to the Manager of Data and Analytics and provide mentorship to a small team of Data Engineers and Visualization Developers.

This opening requires excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills. As a Senior Data Engineer at Fusion Education Group you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of data and analytics for the company’s data ecosystem. You will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle; appreciating and translating the needs of the user and ensuring the final product meets their expectations while upholding department and company standards.

Candidates must have hands on experience in Microsoft SSMS, SSIS and Power BI. Knowledge in Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage Explorer, and Azure DevOps is highly preferred. **

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To**

• Compile innovative ideas for new data models used in corporate reports and self-service environments
• Architect, drive, and create new data movement and data warehouse elements
• Architect, create, and present new analytical measures and analysis that support measuring the success of various departments and projects
• Support the health of SQL ecosystem by monitoring data quality and job processing
• Define and persist best practices in the Data and Analytics ecosystem
• Communicate cross-departmentally to ensure consistent data interpretation and application
• Support the development of the Data and Analytic focus at Fusion Education Group
• Project manage various data projects
• Provide documentation, training, and support to the organization to ensure the highest level of data and architectural design and security standards
• Minimal travel to schools and markets as needed

Position Requirements **

Skill Requirements Are As Follows**

• Strong knowledge of analytics and data warehouse architecture
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, computer science, or another similar field
• Master’s degree in business, finance, statistics, computer science, or another similar field preferred or commensurate experience
• 5-10 years of related experience with database administration, data modelling, data warehouse architecture, data movement, or analytical modelling
• 5+ years SQL experience (DDL, DML, DQL preferred)
• Experience with data visualization tools, Microsoft Power BI preferred
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps administration and execution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Exceptional organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Diligent and self-motivated work ethic
• Working knowledge of SAFe Agile preferred
