The Role

To meet our growth and expansion goals, we’ve built and deployed solutions at scale with multiple approaches across various tools and cloud providers. You will take ownership for how we ship our data engineering strategy, data pipeline automation and storage practices
Responsibilities: As a Senior Data Engineer (SDE) at Stears, you are responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines to extract, clean, transform, and load data from various sources for our various intelligence initiatives
- Collaborating with data analysts, platform and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver relevant datasets and the scheduled cadence
- Implementing processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensure data accuracy and availability for stakeholders
- Contributing your hands on developer expertise to the python data pipeline platform
- Designing and optimizing data storage solutions e.g. data warehouses
- Support data visualization teams to improve the e2e process of publishing visual insights onto our platform.
- Automating and improving data processes for scalability and efficiency
- Providing general data platform observability to our data stack via dashboards, notifications and alerting.
- Ensuring data security policies through access controls and compliance with regulations
- Documenting data pipelines, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing
Who you will work with: This role is part of the Stears team. As the Senior Data Engineer, you will also be a member of the Platform team (product, design & engineering) and report to the Head Of Engineering. In addition to working with the core team of product manager, engineers, and designers, you will work with many internal stakeholders, including Head of Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Analytics.
We are looking for someone with:
- 4 - 6 years of experience in the field
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Shell, Java, and SQL
- Working knowledge of AI/ML/Language models
- Knowledge of data modeling, database management, and ETL processes
- Experience with big data technologies like BigQuery, RDS, Snowflake, Spark, Flink
- Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
