Job Description

A thriving utility product distribution company headquartered on the East Coast is searching for a Utility Sales Director to join their team! They are looking for an experienced sales professional with a servant leadership mentality who can successfully build up a strong team and sell at the same time. The right person for this job has a strong background in utility sales and a track record of successfully leading and managing a sales team or overseeing contractors. If you re passionate about rapidly growing businesses, both individually and as part of a team, this is your chance to make a big impact in the utility industry. This is a fully remote position with about 50% travel required on both the east and west. Candidates must be based in the CST or EST time zone.

Utility Sales Director Requirements

  • 8+ years in utility sales, preferably with infrastructure components
  • 3+ years managing sales teams or overseeing contractors, with a proven track record of leadership success
  • Experienced in managing change, particularly with transitions and system integrations
  • Bachelor s degree preferred;substantial industry experience may substitute
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • Must live in CST or EST time zone

Utility Sales Director Responsibilities

  • Travel up to 50% for trade shows and sales office visits across the East Coast and West Coast
  • Manage daily activities and strategies of 15 independent manufacturers representatives
  • Build and align a small sales team within the first year to meet business growth objectives
  • Ensure performance and accountability of team members and contractors
  • Participate in strategic planning and execution to expand the business unit
  • Lead integration of new ERP and CRM systems to enhance efficiency and processes
