Users Platform Staff Software Engineer (REMOTE)

We are seeking a Users Platform Staff Software Engineer. This is a remote, full-time, and direct hire role for one of our amazing partners. This is a critical leadership role where you'll drive technical decisions, inspire your team, and directly impact the success of this high-scale ecommerce platform. We are looking for a data-driven problem solver that strives for impact, scalability, and simplicity. You will lead the users platform for this growing startup in the e-commerce retail industry and you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and implementing essential microservices for them. You'll start off as a team of one but will eventually lead a talented team of engineers to tackle core functionalities like user profiles, CRM, authentication, real-time events, and history. This is a pivotal leadership role where you can shape the future of their platform.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain microservices for user profiles, CRM, authentication, history, and real-time events.
• Lead the technical vision and roadmap for these microservices to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical best practices.
• Design, develop, and deploy secure and performant microservices using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Typescript, React, Feathers, and modern toolchains.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks within the microservices ecosystem.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into feasible and scalable architectural solutions.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned microservices that includes gathering requirements, designing, developing, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Work in a collaborative and supportive environment with your team, and promote knowledge sharing, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in microservices, cloud platforms, and web development.
• Contribute to the platform architecture and infrastructure decisions.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers to help them grow their skills and expertise.
• KPIs for on-time delivery of high-quality software and having 99.9% Uptime on critical systems.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working with high scale ecommerce.
• 7+ years of experience building and deploying microservices architectures.
• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer leading and mentoring teams.
• Expert knowledge in Typescript and modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Feathers, Sequelize, Drizzle, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes, and relevant services.
• Expert in JWT, OAuth, OpenID, and other authentication and security frameworks & protocols.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools like GitHub Actions.
• Familiar with monitoring and observability platforms like DataDog.
• Passion for building high-quality software with a desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
