Job Description: We at Avantor Sciences are looking for an organized and results-oriented Finance Manager (m/f/d) to support our team in Finland. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. You will analyze financial figures, identify discrepancies, and provide sound recommendations. Additionally, you will support interim and year-end audits and ensure compliance with company policies, SEC, and GAAP reporting standards.

The Team: The FP&A Team is part of our Finance division and consists of 9 dedicated employees across Europe who ensure our company's financial performance.

Your Responsibilities:

• Collaboration and Relationship Management:

  • Work closely with business leaders to create and implement action plans to achieve the annual operating plan

  • Engage daily as a co-leader of the business team

• Planning and Forecasting:

  • Develop and implement the annual operating plan and monthly forecasts

  • Prepare monthly forecast updates in collaboration with zone leadership

• Analysis and Productivity Improvement:

  • Prepare and review monthly results and ad-hoc analyses to enhance operational productivity through revenue generation, margin expansion, and cost control

  • Develop financial presentation packages for review by senior leadership

• Capital and Operating Cost Management:

  • Develop working capital targets and coordinate with various business functions

  • Continuously review the profitability of customers, categories, and products

• Investment Evaluation and Compliance:

  • Review and develop financial justifications for capital and operating expenditures

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and local & US GAAP standards

• Customer and Proposal Process:

  • Actively participate and co-lead the customer proposal/RFQ process

  • Resolve various financial/reporting issues raised by the business area or operating team

• Policies and Best Practices:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures

  • Recommend best practices based on analytical review of data

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)

• Proven experience in finance or accounting; leadership experience is a plus

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills

• Ability to optimize reporting processes and ensure efficient operations

• Independent, highly motivated, and proactive working style

• Confident in negotiating with customers

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)
