Job Overview:As a Senior Web Infrastructure Engineer at Patch My PC, you will be instrumental in sculpting the backbone of our digital landscape. This role calls for a blend of technical prowess, strategic thinking, and a passion for building resilient systems. You will lead critical projects that enhance our web infrastructure’s reliability, security, and usability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coding to create and modify websites, from layout to function, according to specified requirements. They should strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.
This position is a fully remote work from home (WFH), but candidates must live and be authorized to work within the United States without employer sponsorship or transfer of employer sponsorship. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time. CONTRACTOR INFORMATION:
- Contractor Time Frame: 6 months, Part Time
- Base Hourly: $75-150 USD per hour
Core Responsibilities:Disaster Recovery Design: Develop disaster recovery plans tailored to safeguard our digital infrastructure, ensuring robustness and swift recovery capabilities.
Strategic Investigations: Investigate strategic migrations of our critical systems to secure, scalable managed solutions or platforms, optimizing operational excellence.
Architecture for High Availability: Architect and implement systems that guarantee near-continuous availability of our key services, enhancing user confidence and satisfaction.
Backend Optimization: Act as the go-to expert for backend performance, optimizing our core technologies (PHP, MySQL, Apache, WordPress) for maximum efficiency and reliability.
Documentation Overhaul: Oversee the redesign of our product documentation systems, aiming for clarity, ease of use, and comprehensive accessibility.
New website: Patch My Pc is developing a new website, you’ll be one of the key persons to make sure the new website makes continues progress
Autonomy and Innovation: Champion efforts to diminish our dependencies on external systems, such as
patchmypc.com, thereby increasing our autonomy and innovating our service offerings.
Proactive Maintenance and Security: Regularly evaluate and enhance the security and maintenance protocols for our web services, pre-empting vulnerabilities and ensuring uninterrupted service.
Documentation Stewardship: Maintain meticulous records and documentation for our web services, ensuring they remain updated, accurate, and useful for internal stakeholders.
Consolidation and Standardization: Rationalize our website platforms, migrating to common platforms where it makes sense, to streamline management and enhance user interaction.
Content Optimization and SEO Strategist: Regularly update website content to keep it fresh and relevant, ensuring it aligns with current industry standards and practices. Optimize the website architecture and navigation to enhance user experience and improve search engine rankings. Implement strategic SEO practices to increase organic search visibility, including keyword optimization, meta tags, and link building. Collaborate with marketing team members to ensure that all web content supports SEO strategies and aligns with the company's brand voice and objectives. Monitor and analyze website performance metrics to continually refine SEO approaches and tactics.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Apache, PHP, MySQL / MariaDB, and Linux OS.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for developing and maintaining robust web infrastructure and user-friendly interfaces.
- Expertise in managing WordPress environments and familiarity with Divi builder and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Advanced understanding and expertise in WordPress performance debugging and maintenance.
- Comprehensive understanding of web hosting ecosystems, including proficiency with cPanel and WHM.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing web infrastructure projects.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable manner.
- A passion for technology and its potential to improve lives.
- In depth SEO knowledge is a plus
