The Sustainability Solutions group within ENGIE Impact is a growing team of deep experts and top-tier consultants who are translating these capabilities into solutions for our clients’ most complex challenges.
Area of Concentration and Focus
The Sustainability Solutions group within ENGIE Impact is expanding its team and is looking for a proven leader to serve as a Director on our growing team. This role focuses on providing support to our clients who are working to accelerate their transition to zero emission across a variety of capabilities. Our clients include Fortune 500 companies, including some of the most influential and innovative players in the world, as well as public agencies. This area of concentration will focus on establishing and developing strong and trusted client relationships through high-level advisory focusing on delivery value for clients.
As a Director, you will help grow the business and leverage our network, vision and knowledge of Engie solutions shaping strategic orientations of its entity. We are seeking to grow our team with leaders who are equally passionate about achieving short-term real world impact and building the business structures to realize that objective.
This position requires strong project-delivery and client-facing experience, as well as a solid background in business development, stakeholder engagement, and people leadership. Professional experience in strategy advisory is critical, with special emphasis on clean tech, sustainability, technology, client markets, business models, policies and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
ENGIE Impact is seeking a Director who is a passionate, analytical, highly collaborative and detailed-oriented critical thinker and can communicate insights while helping to define the overall strategy of Engie Impact Sustainability Solutions for the region. You will report directly to a Managing Director and closely collaborate with other crucial internal and external stakeholders building up the scrappy Sustainability Solutions practice.
As a Director, you will be a key leader for the practice ensuring regional growth of Engie Impact services through a strong go-to-market strategy, development of relevant offerings and cross-fertilization with Engie group.
You will manage, develop and monitor the client relationship during opportunities development lifecycle; You will drive a deal from start to finish: from pre-qualification and win strategy, through proposals and orals, to closing and delivery transition.
Some of your responsibilities may include:
- Ensure regional growth of its customer segment (solution design and implementation) through a strong go-to-market strategy and development of relevant offerings leveraging sales and marketing enablement
- Directly manage senior staff to ensure complete and high-quality project deliverables to clients
- Oversee the development and preparation of high-quality client-facing proposals, materials and deliverables across multiple workstreams; Design comprehensive solutions which ensure margin and deliverability
- Provide bid management and solutioning support for implementation deals, collaborating with BUs to created integrated responses for clients
- Lead expert analysis of client solutions to develop unique insights
- Support business development and manage, develop and monitor shadow P&L of the entire Americas practice
- Help establish business process designs internally and across the ENGIE organization
- Lead internal and external communications activities related to practice offerings, capabilities, and successes
- Manage and coach team to foster a collaborative working environment, encourage innovation, and support in professional development and career progression definition
- Frequently collaborate with and receive coaching from our senior leadership team
Qualifications
A successful Director within the Sustainability Solutions team at ENGIE Impact will typically meet the following minimum criteria:
- Graduate degree in business, applied sciences, engineering, environment or sustainability with a stellar record of academic achievement preferred; Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of ten years professional experience; a minimum of five years of client-facing project delivery experience (e.g., with a competitive management consulting firm or similar experience)
- Superb consulting skillset – slide and report writing; issue-based problem solving; structured thinking and communication; translating data to insights; collaborative teaming and facilitation; competitive strategy and financial analysis
- Business development experience related to consulting and project delivery; Industrial, Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods sector experience preferred
- Experience in managing and leading work requiring advanced analytics, with specific focus on techno-economic optimization, market forecasting, and project valuation
- Experience with common data analysis platforms
- Solid understanding of clean tech or renewables solutions, markets, policies, and trends, with special focus on strategy roadmapping
- Demonstrated concrete results in operationalizing business transformation strategies while leveraging innovation, technology, commercialization and project management skillsets
- Capacity to engage with senior stakeholders
- Previous people leadership experience and team build-out expertise required
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as autonomously
- Ability to thrive in a start-up environment that is fast-paced and oftentimes ambiguous
