Job description

  • JOB DESCRIPTION: Duck Creek Technologies LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Sr. Manager Level) based out of our U.S. headquarters in Boston, MA; however, this is a Remote First (telecommuting/work-from-home) position whereby the employee may reside anywhere within the U.S. Note, this position requires up to 10% national/domestic travel. S/he will act as the technical lead for project teams as the primary individual responsible for code and technical solution quality. S/he will design, code, and/or configure solutions for high complexity Agile stories independent across multiple domain or platform areas. S/he will create a conceptual design/architecture for large scale software solutions in collaboration with an architect. S/he will provide guidance and mentoring to more junior software engineers. S/he will debug and resolve high complexity software bugs or issues to determine the root cause and provide solutions without collateral damage. S/he will write automated unit and integration level tests. S/he will also follow development standards and effectively demonstrate technical solutions to other developers in code reviews.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    The position of Senior Software Engineer (Sr. Manager Level) requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or closely related IT/engineering field. The position requires 12 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related software development/engineering position. Additionally, the applicant must have the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following:

  • 6 years: Experience with developing insurance domain products
  • 3 years: Leading project teams responsible for code and technical solution quality
  • 10 years: Object-oriented design, Java or .NET development, Relational OLTP queries and Relational database design
  • 10 years: XML/XSLT document design, JavaScript development, HTML5 & CSS
  • 10 years: Conducting estimates and analysis for Software Product Development
  • 12 years: Lifecycle with Agile methodology
  • 12 years: Software Development
