Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Product Engineering to lead the technical development of our Managed Security product portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing new security products and features for GTT’s client base. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and expertise in Security Service Edge (SSE) technologies – ZTNA, SWG, CASB, FWaaS, have long term experience and exposure to Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewalls, with SD-WAN knowledge being highly beneficial to fit within the entire GTT SASE product portfolio.
Job Scope:
Day to day, this role should be working closely together with the Product teams, SDN Engineering functions, Automation groups and Internal Systems departments to shape our product portfolio in line with our mission of delivering ‘Greater Technology Together’.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and enhance our Security Service Edge (SSE) portfolio currently comprised of Palo Alto Prisma Access and GTT’s own SSE product based on Fortinet technology.
• Investigate open-source alternatives to already established security and network vendors that can be bundled together into new SSE/SASE product offerings
• Oversee the design and deployment of Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewalls to protect against unauthorized access and malicious activities.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and cybersecurity, to integrate security features and controls into our products.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to security architecture teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in technical product development with high focus on security products architecture and design.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing security products for enterprises across the globe
• Extensive knowledge of Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewalls, including hands-on experience with leading firewall technologies.
• Proven Experience with emerging Security Service Edge (SSE) technologies
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate security concepts and requirements to diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Experience/Qualifications:
• Master’s degree preferred.
