Job description

Electrician / AOV Service Engineer - London

Established for over 20 years, Marlowe Smoke Control are specialists in the supply, installation and maintenance of Smoke Ventilation Systems UK Wide. We are currently looking to appoint a new AOV Service Engineer AOV Service Engineer specifically covering the UK. We would like the Engineer for this role to be Midlands based.

Basic Salary £32-42,000 subject to experience

Marlowe Smoke Control’s AOV Service Engineer’s

Carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of Automatic Opening Vent systems (AOV Systems), whilst conducting routine inspections and testing to ensure compliance with BS9999 and the building regulations with relevant regulations and standards:

  • Diagnose and rectify faults in AOV systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly and meeting customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers on AOV systems and their proper use and maintenance.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continually enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, ensuring work is conducted in a safe manner at all times.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

As well as having all the usual attributes of a great Marlowe Smoke Control employee, such as; a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, well presented and professional at all times, ability to work alone and as part of a team….. For this specific opportunity, we are looking for candidates who offer:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an AOV Engineer or in a similar role.
  • We are happy to consider a qualified Electrician with a desire for development & training into AOV / Smoke Control.
  • Electrical experience is a mandatory requirement for this opportunity
  • 17th or 18th Edition Certification
  • Understanding or experience of electrical control systems
  • Experience of software-based controls systems, and an ability to write and update system software (or willing to work towards achieving this)
  • An ability to physically check, maintain and diagnose mechanical & electrical and undertake remedial work when required
  • Understanding of electrical circuits within control panels
  • Strong technical skills in system installation, servicing, and fault diagnosis.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Relevant industry certifications and qualifications are desirable.
  • Site experience, ideally holding a CSCS Card
  • Willing to participate on an ad-hoc call-out rota
  • Be passionate about buildings and love working with people
  • You will have a methodical and practical attitude and good attention to detail
  • Full, UK driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
  • Currently residing in or around the M25
