We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team based in our Silver Springs, MD location.

JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Accountant role will support the growing AMC Subscriber VOD (SVOD) businesses for AMC+, AcornTV, Sundance, Allblk, Shudder, and IFC Unlimited.  This role will be responsible for monthly journal entries including Domestic and International SVOD channel revenue and related expenses.   Monthly, the Sr. Accountant will prepare balance sheet reconciliations and monthly rollforward schedules.  The Sr. Accountant will also provide information as requested by internal and external audit teams.  This role will be expected to account for transactions in accordance with US GAAP and Company Accounting policy.  The successful candidate will also develop and maintain relationships with various levels of management throughout the Company and have the desire and curiosity to learn about the business.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Preparation of journal entries in conformity with US GAAP and Company policy 

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze P&L accounts. 

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting schedules and roll forwards. 

• Coordinate with the Cash team to ensure all receipts are recorded within the month. 

• Compile requested data for internal and external auditors. 

• Research accounting issues as requested. 

• Special projects as assigned.

• Effective project and time management skills 

• Ability to work well and excel under tight deadlines and periods of high volume 

• Ability to establish effective relationships with business partners and across the Accounting and Finance organization. 

Technical/Functional Competencies  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting 

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred 

• Minimum 2-3 years accounting experience working in a large to medium sized public company 

• Media or Digital Industry experience a plus 

• Strong analytical skills with a desire and curiosity to understand and own a process 

• Strong Excel skills and possess a knowledge of automated environments. 

• Ability to multitask and follow through a task to completion

• Must have shown upward mobility in prior work experience(s) 

• Must have strong academic credentials 

The base compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $87,000 commensurate with experience.
