Job Description Summary:

Assist the Manager of Supplier Development in workload coordination, staff training and development and process improvement. This position ensures those assigned to the Supplier Development Unit embrace organizational values and communication language, and are actively engaged in Supplier Development Unit strategy planning and implementation.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Cooperative Purchasing business unit to achieve P&L (Revenue and Margin) goals.
  • Manage activities of team members achieve the P&L goals for the business unit.
  • Lead the development of annual plans for Revenue and Margin to identify and support the growth of the business unit.
  • Develop Revenue and Margin (expense) budgets for the business unit to achieve assigned Revenue and Margin goals.
  • Manage the cost centers for the business unit to maximize Revenue and Margin.
  • Manage the activities of the Cooperative Purchasing business unit.
  • Ensure that the team operates effectively within Sourcewell, supports our overall mission, and applies our values in all interactions
  • Lead the business unit by delegating authority to team members to conduct daily operations while providing oversight to ensure that the unit operates according to the Cooperative Purchasing Program Document and complies with all compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the process of developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure that Sourcewell is the preferred Cooperative for these suppliers.

This Includes:

  • Management of awarded contract for assigned suppliers.
  • Development and delivery of training for awarded suppliers.
  • Ensuring that we deliver high touch support for awarded suppliers.
  • Development of business plans for each supplier.
  • Identification of potential high performing suppliers and development of strategies to maximize performance from suppliers in the unit’s portfolio.
  • Providing insight to the Category Development team for future solicitations.
  • Providing support for inquiries from participating agencies in conjunction with the Account Development team.
  • Manage processes to ensure that the business unit works collaboratively with the Category Development, IRB, Account Development, Procurement, GR, and Marketing teams.
  • Manage training programs to ensure that the business unit follows best practices for engaging, developing, and training suppliers.
  • Manages the unit’s use of outside resources (including consultants and data providers) to increase the impact that their teams make.
  • Manage the business unit team members.
  • Supervise, develop, train, and mentor assigned staff.
  • Provide direction and actionable goals to ensure that the team understands how their performance impacts department, division and organizational strategies and goals.
  • Work with the Director of Cooperative purchasing to identify staffing needs and ensure that the business unit has appropriate headcount to support growth plans.
  • Manage hiring, training, and onboarding processes and ensure that these are consistent with those followed by the Cooperative Purchasing team.
  • Pattern our values of Seek, Empower and Impact to your direct reports and the entire Cooperative purchasing team.
  • Develop and lead your team to become open, transparent, innovative, and collaborative to the Sourcewell team and external partners.
  • Represent Sourcewell and Cooperative Purchasing
  • Represent Cooperative Purchasing at internal events, board meetings and retreats.
  • Represent Sourcewell at civic and social functions by attending local, regional, state, and national meetings, and conferences.
  • Attend and present at conferences, trade shows, supplier meetings, client meetings and other public events.
  • Other related areas and duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study AND Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in sales management, P&L management. business development, account management, client relations/development, or other directly related experience ORCombination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to nine (9) years
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Public speaking and presentation experience
  • Budget design and management experience
  • Three (3) years demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field of study
  • Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in sales management, P&L management, business development, account management, client relations/development, or other directly related experience
  • Five (5) years demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience
  • Experience in government procurement and/or contracting
  • Experience working with both private and public sector entities

Salary Range:

  • Grade 16, $110,763.21 - $155,068.50, commensurate with experience

Location:

  • This is a remote position, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
  • On occasion may be expected to attend meetings or trainings at Sourcewell's headquarters in Staples, advance notice would be given to team member.
  • Occasional/Frequent need to travel.
