Job description

Job summary

Provides support to the organization of the School's laboratories guaranteeing the didactic activities of the courses / programs, in compliance with health and safety regulations; supports the supply and management of materials and equipment and the activities in order to improve the quality and technological innovation.

Key purpose of the role

Laboratories Planning – Supervises the scheduling of laboratories, in collaboration with Academic Planning, according to the academic timetable and to free study sessions; provides appropriate support about information on the available equipment of laboratories (in relation with the didactic needs);  supports the team for events and promotional activities (Open days, welcoming of students, etc.); supports the selection and integration of external consultants and tutors according to the assigned budget.

Purchase of Materials – Ensures activities of procurement process for materials and consumables needed for didactic activities; ensures the monitoring the materials in stock and their correct disposal (loading and unloading of materials, space management, and inventories).

Equipment – Guarantees activities of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of equipment; and the management of the procurement process for new equipment within the assigned budget.

Safety – Supervises the implementation of policies and procedures set by Laboratories Head/Manager/Director in order to guarantee a safety work environment in laboratories in compliance with regulatory law; trains new students in safety procedures inside the design laboratories. Ensures the correct disposal of waste products from laboratory activities.

People Leadership and Management – Plans and organizes the work and activities of the assigned team; approves holiday plans and leaves and is involved in the selection of resources; ensures compliance with company policies, of the ethical code and procedures; actively supports change management and innovation initiatives; ensures that all documentation is correctly updated and archived on an ongoing basis.

Student Revision and Follow up – Guide the students in the realization of the model by providing technical knowledge, advices, selection of materials, craft techniques. Supervise the student’s work until the complete realization of the model.
