Job description

The largest business and financial news site in the world, with unrivaled access to data, insights and original editorial content.

The Executive Producer will be responsible for helping to oversee the editorial, production operations, supervision, and organization of finance news on Yahoo Finance Live.  The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of market concepts and stocks. 

This role is required to be onsite 5 days a week, Monday through Friday at our NYC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising day to day work activities of the live show team, reporting directly to the Director of Live

  • Liaises with Producers, On-Air Talent, Assignment Editors, and Writers to predict, promote, and plan weekly content 

  • Produces show from Control Room, communicating with on-air talent, calling elements, etc.

  • Supervises editorial content for the live finance news show

  • Manage several members of the team 

  • Produces individual finance/markets segments

  • Works with producers and writers to finetune stories and headlines

  • Write and update market-focused banners throughout the show, including the last hour of trading

  • Reads content and identifies potential errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar

  • Puts together daily markets note that highlights interesting individual stocks and market milestones
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, communications, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5 years of television production, with a finance news background

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Line Producer

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dead-line-driven environment

  • Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization

  • Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
