As our Senior Social UX/UI Designer, you will dive into the realm of Sanctuary where you'll collaborate closely with a talented team of game designers, product managers, engineers, and artists to conceptualize, design, and iterate across all social gameplay features and systems. You will bring your experience with social design, UX design and interaction design to craft immersive and engaging social features that redefine player interactions within our live and open world.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY or Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Generate UX/UI designs that both achieve social game experience goals and improve the player experience in the form of mockups, prototypes, flows, and layouts.
  • Implement interface screens using efficient and flexible layout design and collaborate with engineers to ensure features are built to design specifications.
  • Iterate on presentation and interaction to both look pixel perfect and feel great.
  • Continually evaluate the UX/UI based on feedback from users, user research, lead social designer, product managers and UX/UI leads.
  • Integrate with the core social team, contributing to the social experience roadmap with relevant stakeholders.
  • Find opportunities to improve implementation standards, process, and collaborative workflows.
  • Coach and mentor team members with UX/UI skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Game Designer, with 1+ shipped title having owned social features, and demonstrable experience working on social systems (e.g. player communication, matchmaking).
  • Comfortable Experience with UI implementation in a modern engine or platform (e.g. Unity, Unreal, or HTML5 or other game engines).
  • Ability to adhere to a project’s existing visual and interaction patterns.
  • Experience with designing for multiple control schemes (e.g. Controllers, Mouse & Keyboard and/or Touch Screen etc.).
  • Positive attitude around receiving and providing objective feedback.
  • A passion for video games and user interface design.
  • A portfolio showing a solid grasp of usability design principles, user flows and prototypes you have created for UI screens, as well as samples of your visual design ability.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $92,920.00 - $171,814.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
